As an Application Support Specialist, you will be a part of the team focusing on application administration and maintenance for an internationally recognized customer. Your main focus will be support throughout the lifecycle of applications and various BMIT and COTS software.

The role includes:

  • providing technical support and maintenance for a variety of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications
  • responding to user inquiries and troubleshooting application issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • collaborating with end-users, internal teams, and external vendors to resolve complex technical problems and ensure customer satisfaction
  • conducting application testing, including functional and regression testing, to identify and resolve software defects and ensure optimal performance
  • installing, configuring, and upgrading COTS applications, adhering to established guidelines and best practices
  • developing and maintaining technical documentation, including support guides, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting procedures
  • collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of COTS applications with existing systems and infrastructure
  • monitoring applications performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing proactive measures to enhance stability and reliability
  • staying up to date with industry trends, new releases, and updates related to COTS applications, and evaluating their applicability to the organization
  • participating in the evaluation and selection of new COTS applications, conducting assessments and providing recommendations based on business requirements and technical feasibility

  • you have Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • you have proven experience in supporting and maintaining COTS applications in a professional environment
  • you have strong knowledge of COTS application functionality, configuration, and customization options
  • you are proficient in troubleshooting and resolving software issues, including experience with log analysis and root cause analysis
  • you are familiar with software development methodologies and change management processes
  • you have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • you have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • you are able to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
  • your knowledge of ITIL principles and best practices is an advantage
  • relevant certifications in COTS applications or related technologies are a plus
  • you are fluent in English, German is an advantage
